Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy relies on the willingness for change from the partners. The sessions provide a neutral and safe environment for discussion while encouraging openness and improvement of communication.

The weight of marital/relationship conflict, in most cases, affects the full range of one’s life including financial stability, career planning, as well as physical and mental health.  The partners may feel frustrated, irritated, heartbroken, and depressed, thus the goal of Couples Therapy is to improve their quality of life.

While many couples contact me at a crossroads of happiness and divorce/separation, in the past few years I’ve noticed an increasing trend among Gen Z and Millennial couples for pre-marital counseling, focused on informed future planning and the desire for harmony, safety, and comfort.

Sex Therapy may be an integral part of Couples or Individual Therapy and most commonly can offer treatment for ED, sex drive differences/mismatch, low libido/hypoactive sexual desire, and unusual sexual behaviors.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy is focused on finding and eliminating dysfunction in the family while improving resiliency.  Healing relies on the cooperation and commitment of the family members.

During the process of Family Therapy, the work takes place with varying participants in both group and individual sessions.

Chronic illness, loss, divorce, and step-parenting are just a few of the life events that can shake a family system and all of its members. It is possible to learn assertive techniques that improve relationship dynamics and improve the overall sense of love, safety, and support in the family.

Complex Trauma Treatment

Identifying traumatic events and one’s narrative about them is key in Trauma Treatment. During the therapeutic process, symptoms of depression and anxiety generally get reduced and clients gain an understanding of their unique strengths. Complex Trauma Treatment is focused on long-term or multiple exposures to hardship, abuse, and threatening events.

Besides traditional psychotherapeutic methods, a body and mindfulness-focused treatment, Polyvagal and Somatic Therapies offer a wonderful road toward strength and independence.
